Havertz  becomes the second most expensive signing after they paid a club record fee of £72m pound for ivory coast forward Nicolas Pepe in 2019.

The German international was signed by Chelsea in 2020 on a five years deal around £72 million after having two prolific seasons at Bayern Laverkusen in the Bundesliga. 

On arrival at Chelsea,he won the champions league in his first season,he scored the wining goal against Manchester city. Havertz scored 14 goals in 2021/222 campaign, but scored only 9 goals last season as Chelsea struggled under 3 different managers and finished 12th position in the premier league. 

Chelsea are looking to offload players ahead of next season after spending over £600 million on new signings since they were bought by an investment group led by American businessman Todd Boehly and Clearlake capital last year. 

Arsenal finished second behind the champions Manchester city  and have qualified for champions league for the first time since 2016/17 campaign,the north London club are looking forward to strengthen their midfield with West Ham's united Declan Rice among their main targets.
